Dear Mr. Preacher man, come take a walk with me… Let’s pretend we’re just two people and you’re not more anointed than me. I’d like to ask you some questions if we can speak honestly. What do you feel when you see all the poor members of your congregation struggling to make ends meet? Who do you pray for at night before you go to sleep? What do you feel when you look in the mirror? Are you proud?
How do you sleep with the knowledge that people follow YOU and not the God you claim to represent? That you, their “spiritual father”, has become their god and that God himself is left wondering what has happened to His bride the church? How do you rest when you’ve filled people with promises of wealth and prosperity on the condition they give into your “love offering” all the while knowing that you have just funded another luxurious purchase for yourself? How do you walk with your head held high knowing full well that your congregants know more about YOU than about the forgiveness of sins or life after death? Can you even look me in the eye? And tell me why?
Dear Mr.Preacherman, do you really mean what you preach? Do you realise that you are a sinner saved by grace like every one of your “sheep”. We’re not dumb and we’re not blind. We see the so-called “blessings” God is showering you with, the money, cars, the first class travel and the fine clothing. But what about blessings such as righteousness, kindness, self control, poverty of spirit, humility and sacrifice? Why does your message not match up with your walk? Why is it that you seem concerned with the cares of this life more than you are with eternity? Why do your followers know more about your powerful and mysterious anointing than about the mystery of faith? Why is your life more a picture of Hollywood than of Calvary? Why don’t you show us an example of holiness and sanctification instead of just telling us to do as you say? When was the last time you prayed for the lost and pleaded with God to spare their souls?
Dear Mr Peacherman, how do you sleep while your followers, are burden to add to your collection of watches and silk sheets? How do you rest when you have reduced miracles to guessing bankcard numbers and middle names but leave out the amazing wonder of salvation? How do you find peace of mind knowing that you have swapped the majesty of the cross for bricks and mortar, which are here today, and gone tomorrow? Making faith about what you can get rather than what you can give, even though the greatest act of God’s love towards us was a gift He gave in the person of Christ
Dear Mr. Preacher man, I hope that you know that you have been entrusted as a steward of the most important message of all time. The message of how it broke God’s heart that he was separated from his people by their sins. It is your privilege to share how God sent his only son to die a shameful death in the place of sinners like you and I so that we could be reconciled to Him. Preacher, you have the awesome job of explaining the greatest love story ever told between a God who could not bear to be apart from his children and children who could have never been good enough to stand before Him without paying a great price.
Dear Mr. Preacher man, you’d never take a walk with me, would you?
When greed is preached from the pulpit, it spreads like a cancer in God’s house
