Every week we recommend at least five things to help you on your christian walk. On our list is something to watch, to listen to, to read, a bible verse and something to do or a habit to pick up. Here is this week’s list and the focus is on keeping hope alive during tough times

To watch

The Christian’s Sorrowful Joy: Dealing with Dark Clouds

Poet, Singer and Song writer from America, Joseph Solomon, started doing vlogs on YouTube which he titled Chasing God. On these episodes he discusses a lot of issues concerning believers and our pursuit of God in day to day life.  In this episode he is talking about dealing with seasons of depression or despair. The advice he gives is very personal and practical and I find this quite helpful for those who may need some encouragement and advice on how stay smiling in the gloomy seasons. Check it out on the link below.

To Listen

For this week`s to listen I would like to recommend an album called We belong by GAWVI. Gawvi started out a producer working from behind the scenes and then about 2yrs back he decided to come out as a singer and I must say I was really impressed at the talent this dude has. This album is his debut album as a performing artist and what a debut it was. He produced most of it himself and he did a really good job. This album has some worship jams that are not so typical but they really help you to connect to God in a very real way. I hope you enjoy it.

Strength for Today Hope for Tomorrow

This week’s to read is an article that was written by Ryan chase on how to stay rooted in God and find hope in Him when life feels gloomy and gray and things seem to be going wrong. Sometimes this life we go through tough sometimes and we then must deal with a lot of negative emotions. So, it is always good to remember in whom our trust is, and that God is always with us even in the hard times. I hope this encourages and lifts your heart. Use the link below to checkit out

To Do

Work Out!

1 Timothy 4:8 New International Version (NIV)

For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come

If there is one habit you want to pick up, if you haven’t already, it’s the habit of regular exercise. Sometimes it feels like we don’t have the time and energy for it and it’s too tedious or that it’s only for those who want to lose weight but, let no one lie to you ( even yourself haha)working out is good for you. You just have to set your mind to it and make the time. I promise you the results will be wort it!

Working out not only helps with physical fitness and well-being but it also helps to improve your mental health. Many studies have shown that exercise is one of the best stress relievers. Not only does it give you a great and healthy body that full of energy, it also gives you a healthy mind and through the process you learn one of the most important skills you can ever have in life; Discipline.

I know some will say gym subscriptions are too expensive or the gym is inconveniently far away from where I live so I would like to remind you that you don’t always need a gym to exercise. There are a lot of body wieght workout plans that you can easily do from the comfort of your home. All you have to do is go on YouTube  I’m certain you’ll find the right set of workouts for you. So don’t sleep on yourself and start taking good care of the temple of God. 🙂

Bible Verse of The Week

Psalm 119:50 ESV

This is my comfort in my affliction, that your promise gives me life.

We live in a fallen and broken world and that guarantees that we will go through difficult times at some point and time in our lives. However our Father in heaven knows this and because he loves us deeply He has made provisions for us to overcome affliction. So whenever you’re going through a rough patch just hold on to the promises tha God has given us and find comfort and life in them like the psalmist did. Shalom 🙂
