Award winning Zim rapper Courtney Antipas has been working on an EP. We got the privilege of getting an exclusive first listen to it before the drop and we have to say we can’t wait for you to hear it.
The EP`s title, Transparent, is an apt description of the project. Courtney holds nothing back as he shares about his struggles and his journey in the faith as a Christian dealing with everyday life. His honesty and transparency about very personal issues such as how he and wife lost their baby is quite brave and inspirational especially right now when most artists prefer to talk about how they are winning, partying and making money.
On the Ep there is also something for the fathers out there who are giving their all daily to be good examples, working hard to make sure that their families are well taken care of. We love our mothers but there are a lot of songs that have been dedicated to the mothers and not enough for the fathers who are role models out there.
On Another track he addresses the identity crisis among young Africans and he encourages the young African to never feel inadequate because they are African. On the contrary we must dream big and go for it. This track is very relevant to young people across Africa.
Sonically the project is well put together and it’s a true testament of how Zimbabwean Hip hop is growing in terms of quality and sound. Compared to his other projects we believe this will surely be his best offering yet. The EP will be released on the 20th of October but it’s already up for preorder. If you are based in Zimbabwe you can preorder using mobile money (ecocash, telecash etc) on the official store tab and for the rest of the world you can use your international Visa card, MasterCard and PayPal to purchase on band camp.
