I need to confess something to you guys. I love watching MasterChef Australia. I don’t know if it’s because I used to work in a restaurant or it’s because I love food. The fact remains, I love it. So I was watching an episode the other day where three contestants where in a pressure test. For those of you who don’t watch MasterChef and have no idea what a pressure test is let me explain. The chefs who cook the three worst dishes of that week go into what is called a “pressure test”. Whoever loses that cook off will be eliminated from the competition. So as you can imagine it’s pretty hectic. Anyway, let me continue my story. There I was watching the three contestants in the pressure test and the judges and special guest came over to one of the contestants to check on what they were doing but the contestant was confused, like blank, no idea what the heck was going on. Instead of trying to help the contestant the judges and special guest moved on to the next station.
I am going somewhere with this, please bear with me.
After the judges moved on I believe God spoke to me in that instant. “I don’t do that” was what I heard. At that time that was exactly what I needed to hear! You see, I have been dealing with a certain issue and it’s been hard. I have been figuring out what to do. I have been trying to look for another way. I lost my peace at times, got worried and beat myself up. I never asked Him for help because to be honest, I am the one that caused the problem in the first place. So I thought He didn’t want to help me. (crazy right!)
Anyway, back to MasterChef, the judges left and that thought came to me. I felt God saying He is not like those judges. He isn’t on the sidelines watching us. The judges could have easily helped the contestant but because of the rules of the competition they didn’t. But I felt God saying He is not like them. Because He is God He wants to help. God is not bound by rules. He loves us so much and doesn’t like seeing us stressed and worried. He wants to come and help us when we are confused, when we have no idea what the answer is. Don’t make the same mistake I made then. When you are in trouble call to Him. He doesn’t want to be a spectator in your game (life) He wants to be in the thick of things with you helping you, guiding you and directing you. You don’t have to keep fighting alone. Call out to Him because He will come and help get you out of the mess you are in!
