There was a Saviour, who was given to save a kind. One such kind that is tortured and tormented by a jealous one who threw away his position in the heavenly host. It seems lately that all too often this kind pays a daily tithe of homage to this devourer elevating his evil abilities above the all encompassing capability of the Author and Finisher. Don’t you know precious sheep?…your value was long since determined by a sacrifice like no other in a plan so deliberate that the foolish devourer missed it. He became a non entity in the grand scope of All the things that will be brought together for your good.
You are the product of a good Shepherd who simply desires to lead, protect and provide for you. Simplicity of the most complex and intricate plan for your salvation, a ransom paid for all time. Even now thousands of years later simply calling on the blood of the Lamb rebukes all principalities and self proclaimed strong holds without an ounce of consideration for whether you are worthy of it or not. The blood has never been about You but it was shed for You with love and hope for a brighter infinity.
You have permission to LIVE more abundantly now than ever before
Nothing is more important than this moment you are in right now, because unlike other things you may still be wishing for, you actually have this within your grasp, fleeting as it may be with no guarantees for tomorrow. Everything may be upside down and you may be wondering what kind of curse led you to be on this earth living the life you’ve had to live.
Those who have never walked in your shoes may have hundreds of solutions for all the situations that are already long gone and they may point fingers and blame you for your inability to walk better in those shoes, but as long as they are not the potter they do not have the final say. Your break through is as simple as your decision to leave the past behind and cleave to this moment deliberately with God. You don’t have to see the finishing line you simply have to decide to run the race and he will order your steps as only he can. He will move you in ways you couldn’t move yourself, you only need to trust him and avail yourself fully.
Don’t mix up what has been bestowed upon you with what you think you deserve
It takes many moments to make up a life and those moments are not always as predictable or as susceptible to viewer’s choice as the series and movies we love to watch. The concept of protagonist and antagonist is jumbled between the seasons. In season one you may be whole but by the time you get to season six your cast may be entirely different and your plot may have taken an altogether different shape from what you had originally intended.
Then when it is the series finale you may or may not have a chance to reflect back on all the seasons that led up to that. What is the significance you ask?.. The significance is that there is no special privilege that exempts a single soul from trial, tribulation or heart ache. We will be “misquoted, misconstrued, misunderstood and over used” and we will also overcome these obstacles.
The problem is that as Christians we have mixed up the concept of working out our salvation by fainting not with the concept of entitlement to the fullness of the Earth without so much as lifting a finger to sow the right seeds. Some of us think the enemy has set up camp in our lives when it is really our pride that has led us to fall from Grace. We make excuses rather than take responsibility and as such now we subscribe to suit wearing N’angas in the “church” who spew all kinds of spiritual nonsense that we slurp up like sewerage water as if the grass is greener where you manipulate it.
Despite all the knowledge freely available to us in the bible, we find ourselves appealing to God, calling down his glory, binding far off devils for something he has already done but which we have failed to perceive because our eyes have been on the blessing and not the Blesser. Like a paper bag we’ve been wide open waiting for good things to fall into us so that we can hit church to mark the register and show them how much more blessed we are than “them” but the marks registered in our lives stay the same. We’ve somehow got it in our minds to change from the outside, forcing our inside to cooperate and ending up frustrated when we smack into the wall of unsustainability.
We keep sliding back into bed with our bad habits and speed dialling that go-to number for InstaGra-tification Bae so that we won’t be lonely or seen to be alone yet at the end of it we feel filthy and guiltier than the guilt we are trying to leave behind in the first place. One thing we need to understand is that our freedom has been bestowed upon us in our ability to make informed choices not how many buckets of tears we can bring to the altar.
A man was slain, his dignity sullied with fists and insults, a thorny crown placed on his head in mockery and his mother wept. A man was slain so that one day we could speak his name freely and our lives be impacted so deeply that we could not help but reproduce his words in almost every language there is. A man was slain that we might have life and have it more abundantly through the pain sorrow and joy but remain intact as the sky after the weather is past…
if you could paint a picture of your life the key moments leading up to the day of your end would be the infusions of colour to conclude your canvas. We often hear the elders say that we should make our lives count for something. Well the life of Jesus is a clear indicator of the true strength of vulnerability
