Bible Verse for The Week
“For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.” Ecclesiastes 3 vs 1.
This week’s verse is a reminder about time and seasons. It tells us that nothing is random. God has set in place times for everything that we do here on earth and His design has a purpose for good. Make it a point to pray and ask Spirit to help you identify the season you’re in so you can plan accordingly and do exactly what the time is calling for.
To do
REFLECT
Reflection according to the dictionary is a fixing of the thoughts on something; careful consideration. When I was still in high school our boarding master ‘ Podo’, ( nicknamed after a famous German footballer Lucas Podolski, for reasons you’ll forever be guessing) always used to stress about taking the time to reflect. At that time we thought he was being a nuisance but now I see the value of it. For personal growth to happen it takes a lot of self-reflection; honestly evaluating and measuring yourself against the goals you have set for your future. Developing this habit will help you to keep yourself accountable to your God given vision and this will foster progress. So, take the time at least once a week to reflect on your life and your purpose.
1. Open in a prayer of gratitude thanking God for the past week. Yes, thank him for both successes and failures because from each failure we learn something.
2. Review your goals and plans for the last week and evaluate how you did? Celebrate the progress you made, take note of the failures and write down what you learnt
3. List your goals for the week and plans to achieve them
4. Commit them to the lord in prayer asking him to guide you
Set aside at least 30 min for this. You can also do this for each month and quarter of the year. It will do wonders for you.
