American based Zimbabwean singer and song writer Purewood has just released a studio session video of
his new song “Can`t Win”. In the video it’s just him, his guitar and the mics. The beauty in the simplicity of the concept allows the emotion of the song to really come through and lets the listener engage with the content.

The song is about something that we all struggle with at some point and time in our lives; the need to compare ourselves with others. It describes our incessant desire to be at the top and the pressures that come with it, especially now in the world where social media is huge. We tend to look at the highlights that other people are posting of their achievements and we feel the pressure to do more because we think our lives and our achievements don’t measure up.

Through this track, Purewood  reminds us that we don’t need to always be comparing ourselves against others. The  pressure  to compete with others at everything is unhealthy.  In the chorus, he encourages the listenetr to let it go because everyone can`t win the same. We all have our different lanes and success won’t always look the same for everyone.

Can’t Win is a single from an album that he is currently working on called A Year of Contemplation which he hopes to release next year. To find out more about Purewood visit his website www.purewood.net . Check out the video to Can’t Win using the link below:
