This was one hot topic. But personal opinion is, i think the points raised FOR polygamy show exactly why Moses had to legitimise polygamy, because man (human) just finds it hard to hold on to God’s standard to be faithful to one wife, therefore God was just lenient enough to say ok go on (permissive will). But still i think they dont reflect God’s perfect will. Still learning though.
Moses did not legitimize polygamy because then it sounds like it was illegal before him. Study the Bible and see that polygamy had been a way of life way before his time. Jacob had 4 wives, who beget the 12 sons (tribes), of Juda. Jacob was more polygamous than Isau but He is the one God said I loved. From the beginning Adam and Eve did not beget Cain and Cindy BUT Cain and Abel and Seth then many other daughters not mentioned by name. So if monogamous was the way would Cain and Abel gotten 2 exact sisters to marry also and so forth
