“In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God.” “…All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made.” John 1 vs1-3. God is literally the beginning, whether we look at it from the creation and formation of the Earth or from the moment we are born again and reconciled into the kingdom. Elohim, God is a creator and the very essence of what it is to create is ingrained in all that has to do with him, but he is not restricted to just creating he then begins the work of forming his creations hence the experience in the potter’s hands.
He takes our rough, misshapen and unrecognisable selves and he uses the potter’s touch to convict us of this deeper need that we cannot fill in our own fleshly desires or with our own fleshly excesses. This is why addictions yield nothing and we go deeper into them until we are no more. It is a constant search for something many are not even sure of and the tragedy is that his people perish for lack of knowledge, not the knowledge that is often spoken of by Church folk, but the knowledge of the reality that we were never made to exist without a saviour. There is no fulfilling life that we could ever live without accepting and embracing the reality of God. Many people will deny it and say that this is religious mumbo jumbo for social control but I wonder..is it? Because those who claim not to believe in God or a concept of a Godly being have their own “god” though they may not give it that title. There is something they lend their belief to. Something they have faith in and thereby exist and live their lives accordingly.
Today I leave you with the assignment of pondering who your God is, because whether you admit it or not you surely have one. As you ponder meditate on who he is to you and start to be thankful for he made a great creation when he made you and the quickest way to know whose you are is to look at the similarity of image..for he made us in his image and there are many characteristics that make up his image. Some of these characteristics may seem unattainable or even unrealistic to us but it’s not our business to question but to know the truth and be set free by it.

About The Daily Bread
The Daily Bread is a blog about encouragement and the transformation of lives from the inside out through seeking to know better and thereby do better. The concept of daily bread was inspired by the Lord’s prayer Matthew 6vs11 “…give us this day our daily bread…”, and other scriptural excerpts like the fact that he gives “bread to the eater and seed to the sower”, 2 Corinthians 9vs10 and Matthew 4vs4 where in times of darkness and deep emotional hunger “…man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceedeth from the mouth of God”.
Now before we get carried away this is NOT a “thus sayeth the Lord” kind of blog but rather an adventure of seeking God’s face, through encouragement to others by one who needs much encouragement herself. There’s a proven power in Matthew 6vs33 “…seeking first his kingdom and his righteousness…” because inevitably “…all of these things shall be added unto you.” this implies that something is missing when you start out but there’s something about God and his way of adding onto what little you bring to him in earnest. I could reference the five loaves and two fishes (John6vs 1-14, Matthew 14vs13-21 or Mark 6 vs30-44) but that’s another lesson for another day. Over the ages its been a constant truth to say that God is faithful and just to build empires and break strongholds with what we perceive as small seeds from ourselves. This is just goes to show how amazing he is in all his ways. That also is quite a lengthy lesson and probably one that will never be exhausted in one sitting.
