Twelve months move fast…Just eleven months ago I sat down to struggle my thoughts into my fist article. I didn’t have a clue what to talk about but the beauty about the bible is that it’s the most relevant book of all time and I borrowed from it to start my own journey of infinite steps.

Naturally I had some preconceived ideas of what it meant to write a pro-Christian blog but God found me at the corner of what I thought I had and what I thought I should give through it and in His typical fashion He took the little I had and made it into a beautiful expression that I get to share with you every week.

He changed my mind about a lot of things and now I understand what Matthew 10vs8 means “…heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received, freely give…”.

I always thought that giving had to come from pain, that you had to dig deep and bring out the very essence of yourself in order for the gift to be worthy of the receiver, but this year God has taught me that the greatest cost for the only gift worth giving has already been paid by Him and anything that leaves my mouth or my hand should be from the abundance He places in me through His spirit. Obligation and guilt should be the last reasons for me to part with anything I have because abundance is our portion and from it shall come the best life He has for us.

Heaven’s currency on Earth

I have this theory that heaven has a currency on earth called love. The more of it you spend the more of it comes back to you. This doesn’t mean that there won’t be moments of regret and disappointment this just means that through it all it is possible to live a full and fulfilled life. Love is the most profitable investment anyone can make and it often comes back in ways you least expect and just when you need it. This is because God is very systematic when mobilising the resources necessary to finance His economy “…thy Kingdom come and thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven…”

Side Note: He literally gives us this day our daily bread and forgives us our trespasses even as we struggle to forgive those who trespass against us and though temptation lives at our doorsteps He is faithful to give us the will to overcome. All these afflictions are light in the grand scope of the kind of life we can all live right now if we are willing to let go of what we think we have come to know. I almost got a little carried away there..its just that the Lord’s prayer has acquired this new depth and inspiring beauty the more its revelation unfolds to me.

Heaven’s currency is freely given by our Reserve Bank God and His desire is for our cups to overflow so that the wheels on this finite bus remain well oiled and we also manage to prepare for the infinite steps that we are yet to walk with Him. Another lesson I’ve been learning this year is that giving is a product of receiving without adequate receiving one cannot adequately give.

We have all been taught that it is better to give than to receive and in the context the statement was made that is true however there is an essence in giving that comes from receiving directly from God. He gives unbiased gifts and allows us to keep them despite our mistakes or carefree attitudes and He lovingly saves and guides us when we call to Him. Imagine if our worldly systems were aligned to His will and desire for us wouldn’t we all be the cheerful givers that He loves?.

I think the reason why tichiomera is that we don’t know the source yezvinhu zvedu and the reason tichiba is because we feel we have been forgotten and so we fight each other for the resources we believe are scarce but it’s really love that is scarce in our hearts. We’ve made up our own versions of love and what it is but its definition is clear in the bible and in those who have a revelation of God’s love.

That’s why they go about doing good, loving those around them and in exchange we ask God to bless them and we wish them well each time we see them and that is how the currency works. By giving your loving kindness those who receive from you in turn thank your creator for your presence here and He in turn grants you the desires of your heart and the gratitude of receiving your desires causes you to continue doing good and the thought of growing weary or fainting never crosses your mind because your heart is always full.

We’ve become accustomed to viscous cycles but perhaps this festive season we will start by giving our attention to the Holy Spirit and He will inspire virtuous cycles for a happy and prosperous 2018.
