Olinda Marowa is a gospel artist from Zimbabwe and this is one of the songs that endeared her to most people that came to love her music. In the song she expresses great dissatisfaction with this world and how she wishes she had wings, Mapapiro, so she can fly to heaven and be with God where there is no more sorrow or trouble. In other words it reflects what we as Christians feel most of the times when we long for the new life to come.

Ndikhokele Bawo is a traditional Xhosa song that has been around for a very long time and this particular arrangement of it by Michael Barrett maintains the spirit of the original song and yet gives it a fresh new twist that is beautiful and touching. The song was performed by the Pretoria choir for Camerata. Not only does it sound heavenly but it also has a deep meaning. The lyrics of the song are basically a prayer to God asking Him to lead and thanking Him for carrying us through the troubles of life.

Jesu Ruvimbo, which means Jesus is my hope, is a song that was done by Zimbabwean gospel artist Mercy Mutsvene. Her music is timeless and it has blessed so many who have heard and appreciated it. This particular song is a favorite from the many amazing songs she has produced over the years. It’s message is that Jesus is my hope now matter what comes or goes. We need to remember that the path we are on is a narrow and hard one. I hope it lifts your eyes to our only hope and joy, Jesus.
Jackie Hill Perry – I Just Wanna Get There
Jackie Hill Perry is an American female rapper who started off as a poet and then she decided to also delve into the art of rapping. I Just Wanna Get There is a song from her first album as a rapper and its arguably one of the best songs on the project. The song is about the struggles we face in our journey as Christians transforming from being the old fallen people we were to being more like Christ. Sometimes this journey gets daunting and we become too impatient with ourselves, but Jackie aptly reminds that God is making us better and He is the one who chooses how and when. I hope it’s encourages to continue relying on Jesus in your journey to becoming more like Him.
