To Watch: Meditating On God’s Word: Scriptures To Ease Anxiety And Fear by Steven Furtick

If there is one thing that can cause worry and anxiety, it’s thoughts about the future. Living in perilous and uncertain times, many people are even more likely to find themselves concerned about what tomorrow will bring.

Are you one of those people?

Why not take time to watch this video.

Here, Pastor Steven Furtick reads Scriptures selected especially for those anxious about the future then offers a prayer at the end. As you listen may God’s peace wash over you and fill you with more hopeful thoughts about the future.

To Listen: Keep Praying (feat. Doe Jones and Ryan Ofei) by Maverick City

As much as they may not like to admit it, some people do not believe that praying does anything. But it does. Through prayer Elijah stopped the rain (James 5:17), through prayer Esther  saved her people (Esther 4 and 8) and through prayer people today have seen miracles happen.

In their latest and powerful song, “Keep Praying” Maverick City encourages us to do just that; keep praying. For when you do, God hears, “blessing will follow” and you will plant “’a seed for tomorrow”.

As you listen and sing along, may you be strengthened in faith and hope.

To Do: Think About Good Things

The Bible gives Christians a template of the types of things we should think on, things that are true, noble, pure, lovely, of good report, virtuous and praiseworthy. (Philippians 4:8)

Right afterwards, the Apostle Paul assures us that when we meditate and think on such things, the peace of God will be with you. (Philippians 4:9)

So instead of letting your mind be filled with worried and anxious thoughts about the future, think about good and godly things. Things that will fill you with peace, joy, faith and hope.

 Bible Verse: Jeremiah 29:11 (NKJV)

For I know the thoughts I think towards you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil to give you a future and a hope.

God does not intend to harm you, in the present or in the future. He desires the very best for you and, as this verse reveals, to give you a future and a hope.

Perhaps you have been struggling to believe that, or never knew that or just forgot that. But as you meditate on this verse, may you be reminded that God loves you and has good plans for you.

As you walk with Him and let His Holy Spirit lead you, He will bring His good will to pass in your life.
