Casting Crowns – Loved Moved first

Love moved first by Casting Crowns is one of those songs that reminds you of the compassion of the God we serve. When we did not give a thought to Him, he took the first step and came for us. He never hesitates to make the first move towards us. Even when we lose our way, His love will come and find us. I hope you enjoy this amazing song.

To Read

This week we have an article on the meanings of love in the bible by John Piper. He talks about the various forms love can take. The more intriguing one for me is the love God has for us. It helped me understand the intensity of God’s love for us.  I hope it enlightens you as much as it did me.

To Do

Read the Bible In Context

Often it is easy to pick one favorite verse we like and run with it. However, I have been learning that this can be dangerous. It can be dangerous because we may take a verse to mean something that it does not. This is why getting the context is always important. If we take a verse I isolation we run the risk of losing out further clarification or information that may inform the meaning of the verse. For example, when Paul speaks about celibacy in 1 Corinthians chapter 7. If you only read the beginning you would think he means that singleness is the only way to live but if you read further he actually says that getting married is not a sin and that those who desire it should seek it. So, whenever you read the bible always strive to read the full text to get the context.

Bible Verse

Romans 5 vs 8

but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

This verse has so much value. It reassures you that God didn’t wait for me to clean yourself up before he could love you. He loved you when you were still lost and so He gave His life to come and find you. Knowledge of this is how we get the courage to give our lives to Christ regardless of our sin. He is the one that will cleanse us of all unrighteousness.
