Ellaine Lerato – ‘You Take This God Thing Too Serious’
In this video, Zimbabwean Youtuber Ellaine addresses an issue that I think a lot of Christians face. Non-believers and some professing Christians tend to accuse those who are trying to live out the teachings of the bible as being ‘too serious’. She talks about this from her perspective and gives some helpful advice on how to process and respond when faced with such comments.

The song Protocol is a strong declaration of what we believe in as Christians. Bizzle reminds us that we have to bold and fearless when it comes to what we believe. God did not give us a spirit of fear. Death has no hold on us anymore because our God is the God of the living.

To Do
Don’t Focus On People’s Reactions
With the way, this world is set up, most if not all of us live in communities with other people. We interact daily and exchange opinions and values. This a good thing because God designed us to desire companionship and walking together fulfills this need. It’s also helpful to listen to what others have to say and take it to account. That’s how we learn new things and grow. We must be careful, however, not to become unhealthily obsessed with how people view us. Being obsessed with people’s reactions can lead us to operate in fear. It can lead us to start living our lives for the approval of men instead of the approval of God.. Don’t focus too much on the reactions of people. Don’t focus on what they will think and say about what you do. Obey God and do what he tells you do even if it means you get a negative response from the people around you. Don’t be afraid of their faces. God’s reaction is more important than that of your peers.
Bible Verse
Jeremiah 1:8 KJV
Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the Lord.
