To Watch: Learn to Rest and Flow With God by Joseph Prince

Our salvation begins when we rest in what Christ has done for us. In this sermon excerpt Joseph Prince emphasizes the importance of doing just that. But our resting does not end with salvation. As humans we are compelled to rest physically and mentally as well.

That is why it is important to follow God’s guidance. When He leads you to work, work and when He leads you to rest, rest. This is how we can lead lives that are wholesome lives, full of success.

To Listen: Rest by John Mark Pantana

In this calming and peaceful song, we are gently reminded of what Jesus tells us in Mark 10:15, to receive the kingdom of God like little children. Not only does that mean trusting God, but as the song’s artist John Mark Pantana tells us in his lyrics, it also means resting in God.

To Read: Living in God’s Rest by Joyce Meyer

Too often we run ourselves ragged trying to get things done on our own, but in this article Joyce Meyer reminds us that what we really should be doing is trusting in God

Instead of trying to work by ourselves, we should enter into God’s rest and do only what we can and leave the rest for God. This is how we can live the stress -free and abundant life Jesus promises.

To Do: Let Go

It can be easy to feel the need to have control of every aspect of your life, especially when living in a world characterized by chaos. But unfortunately, there are some things that are just out of our control. You need to have the wisdom to understand this.

So instead of trying to take charge of everything practice letting go and entrusting things to God, resting in the knowledge that He is in control.

Bible Verse: Psalm 127:2 (NJKV)

It is vain for you to rise up early,

To sit up late,

To eat the bread of sorrows;

For so He gives His beloved sleep.

If you aren’t careful, you can spend your entire life barely sleeping, working tirelessly to get things done and achieve your goals. But God does not want us to be stressed, anxious or exhausted as we seek to fulfil our dreams. He wants us to live balanced lives.

That means you need to rest just as much as you need to work, this verse is a reminder of that. So don’t be afraid to rest because God Himself encourages us to, that is why He has given us with the gift of sleep.
