To Listen: Wait On You by Elevation Worship and Maverick City Music

Waiting on God can be really difficult; especially when it seems like God is not doing anything. As you wait for the fulfilment of God’s promise to you, be it a new job, marriage, children, finances or whatever it may be, you can start wondering whether God has forgotten you or if He will come through. But the truth is…He will.

The God we serve never fails. He will provide and He will fulfil His promise. It may not be when you want it or how you want it but He will do it. You just have to wait on the Lord, that is the bold declaration that echoes throughout this powerful song “Wait on You”. As you listen, be encouraged as you wait on the Lord, knowing that as you do so “He will renew your strength”.

To Read: Trading Anxiety for Patience by Betsy Childs Howards

We all have some plan for how we want our lives to go, whether it’s a daily plan or a monthly plan or even a plan for the far off future. But sometimes those plans can be derailed by things we cannot control.

When our plans are disrupted often the first response is anxiety, fear and worry. But as children of God, we do not need to react in this way when things don’t go how we want them to. We have a Father we can pray to and get help from during such times. This is what Betsy Childs Howards tells us in this article.

Have you been feeling anxious lately because of ruined plans? Read this and learn how you can find peace in uncertain times and exchange anxiety for patience.

To Do: Stay Steadfast

As you wait for breakthrough or for God to fulfil His promises to you or as you just go about your daily life, it is so important to remain steadfast in your faith. What does that mean? It means constantly setting your mind on things above, not getting carried away by earthly riches, lusts and pleasures. It also means continuing to seek the Lord through prayer and reading the Word; continuously worshiping Him and living in the way that He has commanded you to.

You must always remember the goal that we press towards and that is the upward call of God and the eternal life He has promised us. So this week, as you wait on the Lord to answer your prayers, to provide or whatever it may be, remain steadfast. Keep abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that you do not do so in vain.

Bible Verse: Psalm 37:34 (NKJV)

Wait on the Lord,

And keep His way,

And He shall exalt you to inherit the land;

When the wicked are cut off you shall see it.

Have you ever felt as if all the good you do is for nothing? Like all your praying, fasting and reading of the Word is in vain? Meanwhile, all around you people who disregard God and act wickedly seem to be prospering whilst you are suffering and struggling. Do ever wonder if there is a point in continuing to seek the Lord?

Well, the answer to that is yes, it is worth seeking the Lord. And no, your praying, fasting and reading of the Word are not in vain.

As the verse above tells us, as you wait on the Lord and continue to diligently walk in His ways, He will exalt you. He will bless you, make you prosperous and remove your shame. That is the heritage of all who seek the Lord.

So don’t fret because of those people who are prospering in their wicked ways. You must just keep following God because He is the only who can save your soul. Keep waiting on Him and He will come through.
