To Watch: Encourage Yourself by Victoria Osteen

During hard times, it is so great when friends and family are there to lift you up and encourage you. When they remind you of God’s promises to you and the good things He has in store for you. But, unfortunately, sometimes they won’t always be there to do that. So, you need to get to a place where you can encourage yourself in the Lord.

This is what Victoria Osteen teaches in this sermon. It is so important to be able to remind yourself of God’s promises, His goodness and His great plans for you. Once you do this, it will also be easier to find reasons to praise Him, even during hard times. So watch this sermon and find out how you can learn to do just that.

To Listen: Greatest Lord by Sinach

“Greatest Lord” is a strong and powerful declaration of God’s greatness. It is a song that reminds us that there is no mountain or situation that is greater than Him.

If you are struggling through a difficult and trying time right now, let this song help lift you up from the trenches of your pain, fear and worry. Let it remind you that God is with you, He loves you, He is protecting, He is concerned about you and above all, He is in control.

To Do: Look Out For God’s Goodness

Maybe you are currently a situation that feels very much like a pit; deep, dark and hopeless. But there is hope. If you look up and around you, you will see God’s goodness and grace shining even brighter than the sun.

Right now, as you go through whatever difficulty you are going through look out for the big and small moments in which God extends His grace. The times He provides, when He comes through when you most need Him too, the times He comforts you and delivers you. Look out for His mercy and favour, listen out for His whisper of love. And know that He is with you and what He did before, He will do again.

Bible Verse: Psalm 34:1 (NJKV)

I will bless the Lord at all times;

His praise shall continually be in my mouth.

At all times, we are to give thanks and praise to the Lord. Not just when things are going well or when we feel like it. At all times. That means even when our circumstances are not the most favourable, even when things aren’t going particularly well, even then we must praise the Lord.

It is a challenging command but it is not impossible.

As you meditate on this verse, pray that God’s Spirit enables you to praise Him even when you feel like you can’t. Let Him remind you of God’s goodness through Scripture, let Him help you recall all that the Lord has done and will do for you, and most importantly, how great and worthy God is to receive glory, honour and praise forever. Amen.
