To Do: Don’t Act Out Of Fear

As Christians we are not supposed to act out of fear because fear is not of God.

When God tells you to do something, even if it’s urgent, He will gently urge you to do it soon. But He will not fill you with desperation, anxiety or fear to get you to do it.

So, if you find yourself being prompted by fear to do anything, like accept a job or commit to something you cannot do, do not act. Instead, take some time to come out of that desperate and fearful state then pray and ask the Lord what He wants you to do.

Never act out of fear. Always act out of a peace-filled, sound mind, this way you will know that you are acting in line with God.

Bible Verse: 2 Timothy 1:7 (NJKV)

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind

Whenever fear gets a grip on your heart, it is so important to remember where it comes from – the Enemy. God does not give us fear in whatever form, He gives us a spirit of power, love and a sound mind.

This means that you have been given the authority to rebuke fear and to walk in boldness and confidence, and in the peace of mind that comes from God alone.

So this week, if you are attacked by fear, meditate on this verse and remember that. You are a Child of God and you are not a slave to fear. In Jesus name.
