To Do: Pray for Understanding
When it comes to knowing when Jesus is coming, you cannot lean on your own understanding. Don’t just follow what people are saying, either. Instead you must pray for God to give you understanding and listen to what He is saying about the topic.
The last thing you want to do is to be caught unawares when Jesus returns. It’s a blessing, therefore, that the Lord has made sure that doesn’t happen. He has given us His Holy Spirit who will guide us into all truth and reveal what is to come. (John 16:13) And that includes His coming.
Although we still won’t know the exact day or time, by the help of God’s Spirit and through prayer, we can be made aware of the signs and be given understanding of the times we are in. Both of which will help you know how soon Jesus is coming.
Bible Verse: Revelation 21:4 (NKJV)
And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.
This verse gives us a glorious glimpse of what it will be like when Christ returns. There will be no death to cause us sorrow; there will be no more pain to make us cry. All that will remain is the peace, joy and love that comes from God, who will dwell in our midst. How beautiful is that?
As you meditate on this verse, let the truth of it strike your heart and fill you with joyful anticipation for the new world that Jesus will usher in when He comes.
