To Read: God Is My CEO (Following Godly Principles in a Bottom Line World) by Larry S. Julian
Most people have an idea of how to live for Christ at home, amongst their family, friends and fellow Christians. But how does one live for Christ at work, especially when they are surrounded by people who do not share their faith? How does one honour God in a business world that demands results, not caring how you get them?
In his book “God Is My CEO” Larry Julian sets out to find out just that.
“God Is My CEO” features real life stories from 20 business leaders who, in their own way, chose to start living for Christ at work and to honour God in their respective businesses. Using God’s principles, each leader managed to change their communities, become prosperous and bless the lives of others.
If you have ever wondered how you can do that, read this book and be challenged, encouraged and inspired to live for Christ, even in business.

To Do: Be Serious
Jesus death was not a joke.
When Jesus came to earth and died for us, He was completely serious about redeeming us from sin and death and giving us everlasting life. In the same way, when you receive His salvation, you too must be serious.
This means being serious about living for Christ. Be serious in your prayers and in your reading of the Word. Be serious when you talk to God, knowing that He hears you and be serious when you go to church. Don’t go there just because it’s fun or something to do on the weekend. Go there to hear God’s Word and leave there with the intention to actually do something with what you have heard.
So this week, if you haven’t really been taking your life as a Christian seriously, now is the time to start. Ask God to help you and give you the grace to live a life that glorifies Him and honours what He did on the cross.
Bible Verse: Philippians 1:21 (NKJV)
For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
What is living to you? Is living going to parties every weekend, having a large bank account that accommodates travel to exotic places, is living being successful, popular and well liked with a “great” social life?
What about death? Is death a fearful thought to you, in your opinion would dying be losing?
The Apostle Paul did not see death or life in any of these ways. To him, to live was Christ and to die was gain. How many of us can truthfully say the same?
You see, what we call living should not be about pleasing ourselves or pursuing worldly pleasures but living should be knowing and living for Christ. For it is when we surrender our lives to Him, that we will gain so much more not only in this life, but also in the life to come.
So, as you meditate on this verse, consider the ways you can make your life and death meaningful, by living a life for the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
