To Do: Go to God

After facing deep pain, loss or disappointment, sometimes the last person you want to talk to is God. But God is actually the very person you should draw closer to.

God, who wept when Lazarus died. (John 11:33-35) God, who was tempted in all things. (Hebrews 4:15) God, who sees. (Genesis 16:13) God, who provides. (Genesis 22:14) God who loves, deeply and greatly. (Ephesians 3:18-19) He is the only One who truly understands what you are facing. And He is the only One who can help you and carry you through it.

So if you have run away from God after a particularly difficult situation, turn around and go back to Him.

Pour out your heart before Him in prayer and let Him comfort you. Then lift up your song and thank Him. Never forgetting that He is eternally good, faithful and worthy of your praise. (Revelation 4:11)

Bible Verse: Philippians 4:7 (NJKV)

…and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus

Sometimes, in the middle of immense sorrow, you can forget that God is nearby. But He is and it is His peace, which surpasses all understanding, that will protect and guard your aching heart or anxious mind.

So, as you meditate on this verse, I pray that God will meet you in the midst of your pain or suffering and bring you peace. In Jesus Name.
