To Do: Be Still

“Be still and know that I am God”, we are commanded in Psalm 46:10.

But have you done that? Have you taken time to really acknowledge God, who is bigger than your problems, whose love is greater than your sin? Have you taken time to look around and see the ways the God has protected and watched over you? Have you taken time to thank Him, pray to Him, seek Him?

Or are you still in a mad rush? Even in moments when you can be still are you looking for ways to be active?

Now is the time to slow down whilst you still have the time to slow down. Be still and take time to know God, for He desires to be known by you.

Bible Verse: Psalm 40:2 (ESV)

He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure.

There are many pits and bogs we all fall inside in life, whether it is through our own foolishness or misunderstanding or whether we are pushed there by those who wish us harm.

Whichever way you get there, the only way you can safely get out, is by God’s help. He is the One who can draw you out and once He does, He will set you on a rock and guide you so that your steps are established and secure.

As you meditate on this verse, may you remember all the ways God has rescued you from pits in your own life and kept you grounded in Him. Give thanks, as you remember His goodness, grace and love towards you.
