To Do: Cultivate Your Relationship With God

You cannot successfully love others out of your own will or desire to. You need the enablement of the Holy Spirit to do so.

A good way to be enabled by the Holy Spirit is to read the Word. Read and meditate on verses that talk about God’s love and how you should act towards others. As you do this, the Holy Spirit will bring them to your remembrance during appropriate situations.

As you listen to His reminders and promptings, you will then begin to act on the Word and start walking in God’s love.

Bible Verse: 1 Corinthians 13:4 (ESV)

Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant…

If you are responding to people with impatience, rudeness or arrogance, you know you are not walking in love. This verse in 1 Corinthians 13 reveals some of the characteristics of love. Those are patience, kindness, humility.

When you start to nurture these characteristics by the help of the Holy Spirit, you will know you are walking in love.

So, as you go about your day, meditate on this verse and ask God to help you to do that so that you can, start living a life full of love.
