To Watch: Restless: How to Sleep in Your Storm by Rich Wilkerson Jr.

Often, what keeps us from finding rest when we are restless is the belief that we aren’t solving problems that need to be solved by doing so. Yet, in this sermon we are taught that when we allow ourselves to rest in the midst of our crises, we can actually find better solutions and rest for our souls.

If you’ve been anxious, restless, watch this video and find out how you can rest, even in the middle of life’s storms.

To Listen: Rest on Us (Ft Brandon Lake & Eniola Abioye)

A great way to find rest for your restlessness is to rest in the Lord. This can mean simply mean putting down all that is concerning you and coming into His presence with a song. This song is a blessed reminder that God’s Spirit rest on His believers, the same Spirit that brings love, joy and peace. (Galatians 5:22-23)

As you listen, may you remember this truth and may God reveal the ways in which His Spirit can bring rest for your soul.

To Do: Rest Through Prayer

When you pray, you not only get to commune with the Lord and worship Him but, you can also bring our concerns and worries to Him.
Through prayer you can get relief from the very things that cause you to be anxious and feel restless. But how often do you turn to pray when you’re in turmoil?
This week, when you feel overwhelmed, worried, afraid or restless turn to the Lord in prayer. Pour out your heart to Him and allow Him to bring a solution.

Bible Verse: Psalm 127:2 (NKJV)

It is vain for you to rise up early,
To sit up late,
To eat the bread of sorrows;
For so He gives His beloved sleep.
Sometimes we overlook the importance of physical rest. The act of taking a break from our activity, lying down and sleeping. This has a profound impact on not only our physical bodies but our soul and spirit as well.
The beautiful thing is that sleep is something God has given us. Let us not be overcome by the need to constantly work and start prioritizing our rest as well.
As you meditate on this verse, may the Lord reveal ways you can do that.
