To Watch: Trusting God When You Don’t Understand by Christine Caine

Have you ever stood in faith for a miracle? Have you waited, breath held, heart expectant, believing that God will do what you have been hoping for? And then…He doesn’t. He doesn’t give you what you felt you needed and He doesn’t come through in the way you were hoping for.

Experiencing that can be devastating and disappointing. It can be discouraging and it can make you question whether God is even there. If He even cares. The truth is that He does. That’s what Christine Caine tells us in this episode of Better Together.

God is close and He loves you. He is always good and He always does good. You need to remember that and trust Him even when you don’t understand. Watch this video to learn how you can do that.

To Read: The Astounding Empathy of Jesus by Max Lucado

Sometimes it can feel like you are alone in what you’re going through, alone in what you feel. It can feel like no one understands your pain or your sorrow, or your struggle and your circumstances. But Jesus does.

He knows what it’s like to lose friends. He knows what it’s like to suffer through pain, He did so on the cross. Jesus is acquainted with all our grief and He understands our weaknesses. That’s what makes Him the most perfect, compassionate and empathetic High Priest. (Hebrews 4:15). As you read this article may you realise just how much Jesus understands and be reminded that He is close.

To Do: Be Aware of the Presence of God

In the book of Acts Paul tells us that God “is not far from each one of us; for in Him we live and move and have our being” (Acts 17:27-28). How amazing is that? We are told plainly that God is close. And He is. A lot closer than we can fully comprehend. However, sometimes we can forget that or at least not be aware of that.

But the truth is God is close. You don’t have to go far to find Him. He is right there with you as go about your day, as you walk, as you breathe, as you speak. So this week, open yourself up and become more aware of His presence.

If it means taking time to sit in a quiet place and speak with Him. Or singing and praising Him. Or even simply thinking of Him, do that and be reminded of how close He is.

Bible Verse: Zephaniah 3:17 (NKJV)

The Lord your God in your midst,

The Mighty One, will save;

He will rejoice over you with gladness,

He will quiet you with His love,

He will rejoice over you with singing.

What a beautiful and breathtaking promise of what God shall do for you, His special treasures. God Himself will save you from the hand of the enemy. He will rejoice over you with joy and singing, He will bring you peace and quiet your fearful and troubled heart with His love. And He will be right there in the centre, close beside you. Hallelujah!
