To Read: How to Be Confident That Your Past Doesn’t Define Who You Are by Dawn Wilson

In this blog, Dawn Wilson helps you do that by showing the ways you can use your past to propel you forward rather than hold you back. Turning to Scripture, she shares insightful ways you can replace past lies with the truth.

To Do: Renew Your Mind With the Word of God
One way you can start letting go of your past and start living your new life in Christ is by renewing your mind. This simply means you start thinking about yourself, others and the world as God thinks about them.
But you can only get to this place by constantly reading the Word of God. Doing so will change your pattern of thinking and transform you so that you are no longer living as you did in the past, but as God desires you to live in the present and in the future.
Bible Verse: Colossians 3:1 (NKJV)
…and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created Him
When you become a Christian, the Bible tells us that you put off the old man and put on the new man. This means you are no longer who you used to be in the past. Whilst some physical things may be the same, in the spirit you are completely changed.
It does take a while to start behaving fully as your new self since some old habits will linger. But meditating on this verse will be a great reminder to you that you are now a new creation in Christ and that your past is over. In Jesus name.
