To Do: Embrace the Loneliness
Some people are just as afraid of being alone as they are of silence. Maybe you are one of those people, the type that always have to be doing something, preferably with someone. When you find yourself alone, you fight the loneliness and try to get yourself out of it as quickly as possible.
But that’s not how it should be. God has not made us dependent on other people if we want to be happy or at peace. The only person we should be dependent on is Him.
If you are someone who struggles to be alone, why not stop trying to fight it and embrace it. Be by yourself and ask God to reveal what you are afraid of and help you overcome it.
When you do this, you will most definitely grow emotionally and spiritually because if you want to follow after the Lord, sometimes you will need to do it alone.
Bible Verse: Psalm 27:10 (NKJV)
When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take care of me.
Sometimes the fear of loneliness is really a fear of having no one who loves you or who will care for you. But as a Christian you are assured of love and care from God, regardless of who is or is not with you.
This is what David reminds us in this Psalm. If your mother or father forsake you, if your friends leave you, if your colleagues reject you, the Lord will take care of you. Because this is true, even when it might not feel like it, you are never alone.
