To Watch: Unexpected – What to do when your whole world changes by Pastor J. T. Craig
At some point each of us has had our own personal worlds changed by the unexpected, especially in the wake of COVID-19. In Mary’s case her world was changed by the news that she would bear the Son of God.
As we read her story, we see the ways she handled this unexpected news with prayer, praise and faith. But what happens when God unexpectedly propels you into a new season? Where do you run when the unexpected happens? How do you hold onto your faith?
In this sermon, Pastor draws from the story of Mary and offers us some answers and gives advice on how we too can navigate the unexpected. Tune in and be blessed.

To Do: Pray for the Ability To See Past The Situation
Too often, when we find ourselves in an unexpected situation, we spend time mourning about the situation, complaining about the situation or praying that the situation would just go away. But there is another way.
As Christians, when we are surprised by the unexpected, we can turn to God and seek answers from Him. They won’t always come immediately but what does happen is that God can open your eyes to see His grace in the situation and help you grow within it.
So if you are in the middle of the unexpected, ask God for the ability to see past your situation and and be aware of what He is doing.
Bible Verse: 1 Thessalonians 4:18 (NKJV)
…in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
Giving thanks comes naturally when things go the way we would like them to. But giving thanks is the last thing we want to do when we find ourselves in unpleasant and unexpected situations. Yet, this is what this verse urges us to do; give thanks in everything even the unexpected.
As you give thanks, your eyes will be opened to see the good, perfect and acceptable will of God in your situation.
