Divine purpose
Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” [Genesis 1vs26].
Spider man needed to be bitten by a spider, Batman needed to save Gotham, Thor needed to be born Asgardian, Ironman needed Jarvis and Wolverine endured adamantium. Though these guys have different super powers and experiences the one thing they have in common is that they were created and brought to life by an author.
My fellow Super Somebody we too were created by the best Author of all time and we have a double barrelled super power at our finger tips. First is our Author’s name when we acknowledge and accept that we are His, with it we automatically access the essence of power. Second is the special talent (s) that He placed inside of each and every one of us that fuels our being and makes us achieve greatness while rubbing shoulders with other great souls and changing lives all around.
Unfortunately our individual trailers don’t give us a preview of how our super powers are going to develop or when we are first going to encounter and be changed by them so sometimes we get knocked down to a point where we think we will never get up again. It is usually at our lowest point that we are lifted up and shown the reality we never would have seen if things had gone according to our original plans.
The Plot
As the story unfolds a new born You enters a world filled with turmoil, pain and crime but this same world in all its imperfection is your perfect canvas filled with opportunities for you to make your special mark and add to the mosaic of humanity. You begin to awaken to your surroundings from a few months of age and you curiously explore your little world learning what it is to be a member of this society.
During these formative years many things happen that can either make or break your spirit and you catch your first pubescent glimpse of the “you” that you may become as this wheel keeps turning. You may be awkward, you may be athletic, you may be artistic or you may be quiet but the strength of your purpose lies in the fact that you “are”. I think sometimes we under estimate the fact that we exist at all, we slip into a self-conscious slumber thinking that the villain has won because things have gone terribly and grievously wrong.
I just wanted to tell you that your experiences are exactly why 100% of your life is important. There’s not a moment in them that have no place in your story and the overall story of humanity even the ones that make you cringe to remember. The thing about life is that you can only connect the dots going backwards and not forwards and you can only win from the inside and not from the outside.
Everything that has ever happened in your life was leading you up to the moment where you finally realise that “…God’s purpose isn’t just about you,” and when you realise that “…He will use you in a mighty way” [Dr. Tony Evans]. Your life will acquire meaning the more you apply yourself to living deliberately. One way of looking at it is that “the meaning of life is to find your gift and the purpose of life is to give it away” [Pablo Picaso].
Your Super Story
Your gift will make a way for you even if you’ve been struggling with hunger games, fighting crafty demons beyond the great wall, seeing yourself with antman proportions because you just seemed too small to make a difference and maybe you recognised your potential but are in the star wars for your place in the universe but your immediate advantage is that You Are Here.
I don’t know why that point of emphasis keeps playing in my posts but I do know that it is purposeful for a time such as this. If you never find anything else in life I hope you find your purpose and testify the goodness of God from your own experiences.
