You Are Right On Time
To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven
-Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NKJV)
Some of us are so good at setting a time for when we want things to happen in our lives. We set times for when we want to have a car, open a business and even get married.
But when things don’t go according to that schedule, we can start to feel like we have been delayed or that we are out of time. But the truth is that we are not . We are not out of time and we are not late.
Just as it has been revealed in the verse above, there is a time for every purpose under. There is an appointed time in which you will meet your future spouse and an appointed time in which you will own your own business. There is a time for everything.
This means the reason you may not be where you want to be right now is because it’s simply not time yet. If you are walking in God’s will, you are not late all, you are actually right on time.
Are You Walking in God’s Will?
The enemy can cause delay and setback in your life. He can hinder the progress of your finances, your marital life or stand in the way of you receiving what is yours. If you don’t actively pray against and cancel his plans for your life some things will be delayed.
But if you are listening to what God is saying about your situation and praying to stop the plans of the enemy. If you are being led by His Spirit and walking in His will for you, you can be assured that any delay is for your good.
There are so many things God works together for us behind the scenes that we are not even aware of (Ecclesiastes 3:11). There are so many things He will be doing backstage, whilst on front stage, where you are, it may look like nothing is happening. But something is happening.
God is preparing and putting in place all that you need before He delivers the promise to you at the set time.
The Promise Will Be Delivered At The Set Time
Take a look at the story of Abraham in the Old Testament. God promised him a child and heir (Genesis 14:4) but Abraham did not get him immediately. In fact much time passed before Sarah even conceived.
But yet it says in the Word that God fulfilled His promise, “For Sarah conceived and bore Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.” (Genesis 21:2) (Emphasis mine)
Do you see that? It says that Isaac, who had been promised a long time ago, arrived at the set time. This means that God did not delay in fulfilling the promise, Isaac did not arrive late, in fact, he was right on time.
And just as God did not delay in fulfilling His promise to Abraham, He has not delayed in fulfilling His promise to you. You will receive what you are waiting for in time, on time and at the right time. However, in the meantime you must wait patiently on the Lord and enjoy where you are.
Enjoy Where You Are, Grow Where You Are
As you wait for whatever it is you might be waiting for, it is so important to enjoy where you are now. Be content and grow where you are.
If you spend too much time trying to dig up the treasure you see in the future, you can miss out on the golden gem that is the present.
There is always an opportunity to grow and learn something in whatever place you are in. But it’s up to you to sit and learn the lessons being taught.
In that time of singleness, what can you learn about God and yourself? How has not having a car or that new house taught you about patience or possessions? What are you learning about careers and business as you wait to be an entrepreneur?
Another thing to remember is that once the time you are in has passed, it will be gone forever. Now, in some cases that is a relief. But in other cases, if you don’t make the most of that time, you will miss it once it’s gone. So make sure you are making the most of where you are.
You Will Get There Sooner Thank You Think
Once you allow yourself to be at peace with where you are, you will find that time will actually move more quickly.
Sooner than you think, that troubling stage of waiting and expecting and wondering will come to pass. Sooner than you think, you will arrive at the destination you have been longing for. You will have in hand what you have been waiting for and all the time before will be nothing but a memory.
So stay steadfast and faithful, child of God. Be patient and remain at peace knowing that this too shall come to pass.
Remember too, that as you walk with God that you are not too late. You have not been delayed and you are not out of time. At this very moment, you are exactly where you need to be and you will get to where you desire to be in good time and at the right time.
