After much teasing, with video clips and a number of singles, multi award winning American rapper Lecrae has finally released his 8th album, All Things Work Together. The 14 track album was officially released on the 22nd of September and just as expected the wait wasn’t for nothing.

Over the years Lecrae has become a well-recognized Christian voice in the hip-hop music industry because of his quality work and faith filled music. This album is testament to how much he has grown both as an artist and a person. The content is very rich and real as he discusses very personal issues such as his struggles with depression and his belief in the Christian faith in the song Can’t Stop Me Now.

Cry for you is also another song on the album that is very real and honest. In the song he opens up about how hard it is to be real and confess ones failures and shortcomings in a society that is very judgmental and expects you to be a perfect all the time which is something that most Christians can relate to can relate to.

The album also talks about racial injustice, which is a very pressing issue in the world right now. He gives very apt and relevant insights concerning the whole matter in songs such as Facts and Come Get Me. He talks about how apologizing for racial discrimination is not enough to solve the issues it has created  and that active acts of love and restoration will have to be made in order for healing and progress to take place.

Apart from just deep and dark themes, the album also has some uplifting, hope type records such as I`ll Find You which features Tori Kelly and Worth It. Another such song, which is the theme song, is 8: 28. The song is a reference to Romans 8 verse 28 which talks about how all things, both the good and the bad, work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose. Then are also  turn up feel good songs for the head bops such as Hammer time, Blessings featuring Ty Dollar $ign and Broke.

Musically the sound is very contemporary but in a very Lecrae way, that is, he put his spin on modern sounds and made it work well. Many prominent producers were featured such as Swoope who worked on Worth It and Cry for Me, Metro Booming and Boi Wonder among others.

All things considered the record feels like a well-rounded album that anyone from any walk of life can be able to relate to and enjoy. Lecrae really did again, so go ahead and check it out !
